Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of PractDesk's website and application (the "Service"), operated by PractDesk ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

PractDesk provides organizational and educational tools for individuals navigating the marriage-based green card process (document organization, timeline tracking, USCIS letter explanations, AI chat, interview practice) and case-management tools for immigration law firms (client cases, checklists, document requests, secure messaging).

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

If you create a "lawyer" account, you represent that you are a licensed attorney or authorized staff acting on behalf of a licensed attorney or firm, and that your use of the Service complies with the rules of professional conduct applicable to your jurisdiction.

PractDesk organizes communication and documents between a lawyer and their client. It does not replace the attorney's independent professional judgment, representation, or advice, and does not create an attorney-client relationship between PractDesk and any user.

Lawyers are solely responsible for the accuracy of case information, checklists, and advice communicated to clients through the Service.

Law firm / lawyer subscriptions ("Pro") may be required for certain firm features. Clients invited through a firm do not pay PractDesk — portal access is included with the firm's use of the Service. Prices for firm plans are shown in the Service at the time of purchase and are billed on a recurring basis until canceled.

Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing as a firm, you authorize recurring charges to your chosen payment method.

You can cancel a firm subscription at any time from your account settings or the Stripe customer portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless stated otherwise.

Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) upload content that infringes another person's rights or contains malicious code; (c) attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' data; (d) misrepresent your identity or professional credentials (in particular, lawyer bar status); or (e) use the Service to provide legal advice while falsely holding yourself out as a licensed attorney where you are not one.

AI-generated content (document classification, letter explanations, chat responses, interview feedback) may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. You should independently verify any important information, especially anything related to deadlines, legal requirements, or official government correspondence, and consult a licensed immigration attorney for legal advice.

The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by PractDesk and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of the content and documents you upload; you grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely to provide the Service to you.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will result in any particular immigration outcome.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PractDesk will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a risk to the Service or other users.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
